現状で薬物依存者が再び逮捕されても特段驚かない。依存症になった人が犯罪者として扱われて更生しても、そこで問題は何も解決して居ない。芸能人は特段のバッシングを受けるが、病気としての依存症をどう治療してゆくかの議論と体制づくりをしなければ、同様の問題はまた起こる。

全く正しい。ただ、日本人は薬物依存者のような「正規のルートからこぼれ落ちた人」にとても冷たい民族だと思う。それは例えば「正社員」にしても同じ。失業したらたいへんだというので大騒ぎする。しかしいったん失業したり、正社員になれなかった人に対しては、救いの手が差し伸べられない。
